Room×Lab Review · Review updated September 28, 2026

Narrow Keane owners like the compact fit, while the wider family splits on build quality and drawer feel

The retailer aggregate covers 1,795 unfiltered ratings and can include records excluded from product-specific claims; it is not a qualified-owner count. 1,529 distinct retailer comments were studied. This covers the Keane nightstand family. Most owner experience concerns the larger charging nightstands: the 32-inch two-drawer style, some three-drawer units, and older charging listings in Driftwood, Natural/Weathered Natural, Wenge/Espresso and Black. The narrow 18-inch one-drawer style has a small group of owners: two on the shown Driftwood SKU and several on a Weathered Natural narrow listing. Charging, width and many drawer findings apply to the charging styles, not the narrow SKU. The same review pool also contains Keane dressers, beds, armoires, consoles, desks and sets, which aren't nightstand evidence, so the retailer's aggregate rating describes that mixed pool. Reviews span 2016–2026, and most are impressions near delivery.

Room×Lab rating: 6.3 out of 10 (medium confidence). Keane nightstands draw steady praise for their clean, modern look, and the few narrow 18-inch owners like the compact fit and soft-close drawer. Disputed build quality for the price, finishes that often differ from photos and little long-term evidence for the narrow style hold the score back.

  • Narrow 18-inch owners: compact fit and solid feel: Linked records: 9 favorable and 2 critical mentions from owners on the narrow listings. — Two records are on the shown Driftwood listing; the rest are from a sibling narrow listing. Owners cite small-space fit, sturdy feel and a smooth soft-close drawer. The shown-listing owner calls storage small but enough for gadgets, and another found a small top defect they attribute to manufacturing. Most are early impressions.
  • Build feel is disputed across Keane nightstands: Linked records: 14 favorable and 22 critical mentions about weight and construction feel. — Some owners describe heavy, sturdy, well-made units. Others find them light, hollow-sounding or clearly veneer or laminate, and some call that poor value at the price. Critical records include poor drawer edge banding and a thin top. Two favorable records come from the narrow listing; several others concern charging models.
  • Soft-close drawers are praised, but stiffness and faults recur: Linked records: 17 favorable and 42 critical mentions about drawer action. — Owners, including narrow-listing buyers, praise the soft-close action. Critics say the small knobs are hard to grip and the drawers stiff to open one-handed, or that they stick or won't close. One owner had a slide fail with no parts sold. Several blame sticking on the charging cable. Narrow-listing owners report only smooth action so far.

Before buying

Choose it for a compact 18-inch nightstand with one soft-close drawer and an open shelf, but see the Driftwood finish in person first and accept that long-term durability evidence for the narrow style is still thin.
