Room×Lab Review · Review updated September 29, 2026

Linea dresser owners love the drawer space, but drawer failures and residue on clothes come up repeatedly

The retailer aggregate covered 522 unfiltered ratings on 2026-09-01 (the live page showed 525 on 2026-09-27). It can include records excluded from product-specific claims; it is not a qualified-owner count. 457 distinct retailer comments from that date were studied. This owner evidence covers the Crate & Barrel Linea teak bedroom collection's dressers and chests, written from 2015 to 2026: the black 66-inch 6-drawer dresser, natural 3-drawer chests, a smaller black dresser sold alongside the 6-drawer, black chests of unstated size, and older natural-teak Linea and Linea II dressers. No review states a 49-inch size, so which reviews match the 49-inch natural member is unconfirmed. Only a few reviews clearly name the black 6-drawer model, and most don't give a size or finish. Many reviews in the same pool are about Linea nightstands, beds, side tables or unnamed pieces; those are left out of the dresser findings, including nightstand drawer tracks, charging-nightstand faults and bed squeaks. The aggregate rating covers this whole mixed pool, not just dresser owners. Natural-finish findings may not apply to the black finish, and older generations may differ in construction.

Room×Lab rating: 5.6 out of 10 (limited confidence). Linea dressers win steady praise for deep, roomy drawers and their look, but owners also report failing drawers, cracked wood and damaged deliveries. The roughly 4.1-star average is pooled with Linea nightstands and beds, and few reviews confirm the black 6-drawer model.

  • Deep, roomy drawers are the clearest strength: Linked records: 28 favorable and 2 critical mentions about drawer depth and storage capacity. — Owners, including some on the black 6-drawer listing, say the drawers are deep and wide and some hold more than expected. One owner found them wide but not very deep. Another says drawer bottoms sagged when overstuffed and needed screws. Much of the praise comes from short reviews, several written within about a month of purchase.
  • Drawer, slide and drawer-bottom failures: Linked records: 14 critical and 4 favorable mentions about drawers, slides or drawer bottoms holding up. — Reports range from a drawer split within weeks and plastic slide clips a delivery crew tore off a faulty drawer to drawers that stopped closing after five to six years. One black 6-drawer owner reports drawers that won't close and peeling veneer. Others say drawers still work after 5 months, 6 months and 2+ years. These are single reports, not failure rates.
  • Dust or stain rubbing off inside drawers: Linked records: 19 critical mentions of dust, residue or stain in drawers, most marking clothes; 3 favorable. — Owners describe sawdust, loose stain or film in drawers, often marking clothes; many used wipe-downs or liners. Most reports involve natural or unstated finishes; one black-dust report, on a listing whose other reviewers describe black pieces, names no finish, so black-finish residue is unverified. One who wiped down first had no problems in two months.

Before buying

Buy it for the deep drawers and looks, but inspect every drawer, slide and panel at delivery, ask whether single parts can be replaced, and wipe out the drawers before loading clothes.
