Keane dresser owners love the soft-close drawers but split on the finish and report damaged deliveries

The retailer aggregate covers 1,785 unfiltered ratings and can include records excluded from product-specific claims; it is not a qualified-owner count. 1,524 distinct retailer comments were studied. These reviews cover the whole Keane collection, mostly nightstands; reviews of beds, the armoire, tables, media consoles, desks and bookcases are not used here. Owner findings come from reviews of Keane dressers and chests, or unnamed drawer pieces. Only a small group are on the 84-inch 9-drawer driftwood or weathered-natural listings, or name the 9-drawer model. Many sit on listings for 64-inch 6-drawer dressers and 5-drawer tall chests, in driftwood, weathered natural, black, espresso and wenge finishes. The reviews date from 2016 to 2026 and may span product generations. Most describe the first weeks of ownership; only a few report one to three years or more of use. The star rating covers this whole mixed pool. The reviews come from an older listing of this dresser, while price and specifications come from the current page, which showed 292 reviews on 2026-09-27; whether the two are physically identical is unverified.

Room×Lab rating: 6.2 out of 10 (medium confidence). Keane dresser owners praise the roomy soft-close drawers and solid feel, which carry the score. The main caveat is inconsistency: owners report damaged or misaligned units, a divisive finish and some slide failures with parts refused, and the star rating pools the whole Keane collection.

  • Soft-close drawers are frequently praised: Linked records: 31 favorable and 13 critical mentions about the soft-close drawer action. — Praise includes owners on the 84-inch driftwood 9-drawer listing. Complaints describe soft-close that sometimes stops short and drawers that stick, catch or go crooked. Where ownership length is stated it is mostly weeks to a few months; one owner of over two years still praised the mechanism.
  • The finish's look and wood feel divide owners: Linked records: 15 favorable and 25 critical mentions about the finish's look and wood authenticity. — Many admire the grain; critics cite a shiny, painted or plastic look, engineered-wood feel, chips, and peeling edge banding on one 84-inch driftwood order (two critical records likely share a household). Several returned theirs. A few say the finish hides scratches; one says it scratches easily. Seven report a stain, chemical, burnt or sweet odor.
  • Arrival condition varies from unit to unit: Linked records: 14 favorable and 25 critical mentions about delivery and condition on arrival. — On the 84-inch driftwood listing, one owner went through four deliveries with scratches and dents, and another still had an unresolved replacement after three weeks. Other reports include a protruding nail, a missing leg and locked drawers. Several owners praise white-glove setup and packing. These are anecdotes, not a damage rate.

Before buying

Choose a Keane dresser for its roomy soft-close storage, but inspect every drawer, edge and finish at delivery, install the included anti-tip hardware, and confirm spare-part and warranty terms, since owners report damaged units and refused slide parts.
