Room×Lab Review · Review updated August 28, 2026

Easy cleaning leads, but fading is this Gingham rug’s clearest owner-reported risk

The black-and-white pool maps to related listings. The red-and-white design has a separate listing was not pooled, so findings apply only to the black-and-white outdoor-rug family. Of the 391 distinct reviews, 389 were tagged verified owner and 54 were tagged incentivized.

Room×Lab rating: 7.5 out of 10 (limited confidence). The strong retailer-owner rating and frequent cleaning success support a good score, but repeated fading reports materially limit the durability case. The main caveat is that outcomes varied sharply by exposure, with some owners reporting years of acceptable service.

  • Cleaning usually delivers: 107 favorable mentions; 7 lower-rating concerns — Among 120 care-and-cleaning comments in the inspected 391-review set, owners often reported successful machine washing or hosing. A smaller group said stains persisted, white areas stayed dingy, or doorway dirt passed through.
  • Fading is the key durability risk: 25 favorable mentions; 19 lower-rating concerns — Among 49 durability comments in the owner-review evidence, outcomes ranged from years of acceptable service to black areas changing color after weeks or months. The concern recurred but was not universal, even among covered placements.
  • Low-clearance fit works for many entries: 34 favorable mentions; 6 lower-rating concerns — Among 41 size-and-fit comments in the owner-review evidence, owners commonly liked the doorway, porch, runner, and low-profile fit. Less favorable accounts described undersized pads, cover overhang, trip concerns, or an unexpectedly large pattern scale.

Before buying

Choose it for washable, low-profile porch style, but favor covered placement if color retention matters and confirm that your washer and tolerance for careful pad alignment suit the size.
