Room×Lab Review · Review updated September 29, 2026

Serenity owners praise its comfort, but a noisy recline and unhelpful support stand out

The 4.4-star average and 25-rating count come from Storkcraft's single Serenity listing, which offers Ivory and Steel and also lists boucle model and UPC numbers, so the pool can mix colors and versions. It is not a count of verified owners. We read all 25 distinct written reviews, posted May 2021 to August 2026 under that listing; many don't name the chair in their text. A few reviewers say they have an Ivory/cream or Steel/gray unit, but most don't say which color, none mentions boucle, and none says whether their chair was made in Malaysia or Vietnam. Many 5-star reviews are brief first impressions that don't say how long the owner has used the chair; 7 reviews are flagged as incentivized and 3 carry no incentive flag. The only reports from longer use are critical: a chair back that broke into pieces at about 1.5 years, which the owner says stabbed them in the back, and a USB port that failed at about 6 months. We found no owner discussion on forums, Reddit or video in our searches, and reviews at other retailers, including Amazon, Walmart and Home Depot, were not read.

Room×Lab rating: 6.1 out of 10 (limited confidence). Owners on Storkcraft's store mostly praise the Serenity's comfort, smooth glide and USB charging. But the only long-term reports describe a broken chair back and a dead USB port, and every owner who contacted support says they got no fix.

  • Comfort praised, but owners disagree on firmness: Linked records: 17 favorable and 1 critical mention of seat comfort and firmness. — Some owners call it soft and others call it firm, and a few like the firmness for back support. The one critical mention comes from a household whose gray unit felt firmer than its Ivory unit. That doesn't establish a difference by color. No owner describes the cushions compressing over time.
  • The recline mostly works, but the footrest latch can be loud: Linked records: 7 favorable and 2 critical mentions of the recline and footrest. — Owners say it reclines smoothly, stays open until pushed closed and is good for naps, and a 6 ft 4 in adult was comfortable reclined. One owner says a loud spring latch has occasionally woken the baby and the recline holds only with pressure. Another reports loud opening and closing and a footrest that sticks partway up.
  • The three owners who describe contacting support got no fix: Linked records: 3 critical and no favorable mentions of help from Storkcraft support. — One owner's chair back broke after about 1.5 years, and support called it out of warranty. Another got no exchange for arms that were loose on delivery. A third was told there were no parts or replacement for a USB port that died after about six months. These are individual accounts and too few to show how often claims get resolved.

Before buying

Choose the Serenity for its smooth glide and USB charging if you can accept a one-year warranty, a footrest some owners find loud, and only two long-term owner reports, both describing failures. Check both official dimension sets against your nursery.
