Dune loveseat owners praise the comfort and look, but most durability reports come from the older taupe version

The retailer aggregate covers 146 unfiltered ratings and can include records excluded from product-specific claims; it is not a qualified-owner count. 126 distinct retailer comments were studied. Owner experience comes from Crate & Barrel's customer reviews for the Dune right-arm outdoor loveseat in three versions. Two reviews are for the black frame with black cushions, the version pictured here. Four are for the black frame with white cushions, one covering a three-piece sectional. Fourteen are for the taupe version with Sunbrella cushions, dated 2014 to 2025, including one non-owner comment about cushion colors. Crate & Barrel's retailer reviews pools these versions, but nothing we saved shows that they share construction. The taupe version was sold with Sunbrella cushions, and whether its cushion fabric and fill match the black versions' is unconfirmed, so cushion water, dirt and fabric findings apply only to the version that reported them. Most reviews are short and give no length of use. The pool also holds 106 unrelated steak-knife reviews, which count toward the page rating but say nothing about the loveseat.

Room×Lab rating: 6.6 out of 10 (limited confidence). Owners of the Dune right-arm loveseat praise its comfort, clean modern look and easy fit in small spaces or sectionals, though most of that praise is for the older taupe Sunbrella version. Long-term wear of the black mesh and acrylic cushions is barely documented, and one owner reported a sagging seat and crooked legs.

  • Comfortable seating, per white-cushion and taupe owners: Linked records: 12 favorable and no critical mentions about seating comfort. — The comfort praise comes from owners of the black frame with white cushions and of the taupe Sunbrella version. One owner calls the cushions firm but comfortable. Only two of these reviews give a length of use: about eight months and a few months. Whether cushion construction is the same across versions is unverified.
  • Sturdy build, with one sag-and-legs complaint: Linked records: 4 favorable and 1 critical mention about build quality and sturdiness. — The sturdiness praise comes from owners of the black frame with white cushions and of the taupe version, one of whom uses it indoors. The only defect report is a one-star 2019 review of the taupe version. It describes a seat sagging in the middle and crooked metal legs, with no length of use given. Whether the black frame is built the same way is unverified.
  • Taupe Sunbrella cushions: mostly easy to clean and water-resistant, with dissent: Linked records: 6 favorable and 2 critical mentions about cushion water, dirt and cleaning, nearly all for taupe. — Three taupe owners say the Sunbrella cushions repel water or spills or dry quickly. One says they soaked up rain and stayed wet for days, and another recommends a cover because the light color is exposed to rain and pollen. No linked review of the black cushions clearly addresses water or fading.

Before buying

Choose it for the clean modern look and flexible sectional fit, but check the current seat depth, seat height, price and warranty with Crate & Barrel, and plan to use covers. How the black version holds up outdoors over time is barely documented.
