Room×Lab Review · Review updated September 29, 2026 · Evidence rechecked September 30, 2026

Owners love the Noel's look and plush feel, but it must be drilled into the wall and its fixed cleats need careful planning

The retailer aggregate covers 21 unfiltered ratings and can include records excluded from product-specific claims; it is not a qualified-owner count. 18 distinct retailer comments were studied. Owner reviews of Article's Noel queen standard-height velvet headboard, three wall-mounted upholstered panels in Plush velvet colours. Eleven are for the Plush Pacific Sage queen, under the current listing and an older Sage listing whose catalog number the current page still carries. Seven are for the Plush Pacific Taupe queen: the same model in another colour, shown here under Article's cross-colour review policy. Identical fabric and construction across colours is unconfirmed, so Taupe colour remarks stay with Taupe. Two owners added extension panels, two reviewed before mounting, and one review covers a second Article headboard too. The reviews run from late 2022 to mid-2026 and are mostly first impressions of looks, quality, delivery and mounting. None says how long the headboard has been used.

Room×Lab rating: 6.6 out of 10 (limited confidence). Owners of the Sage and Taupe queens praise the Noel's look, plush feel and mostly easy install. The main caveat is that the reviews are early impressions: fixed wall cleats limit placement, and long-term wear and mounting security are still unproven.

  • Quality and plushness draw consistent praise in both colours: Linked records: 10 favorable and no critical mentions of quality; none says how long it has been used. — Owners of the Sage and Taupe queens praise the quality, and some mention the fill, plushness, sturdiness or comfort. Two Taupe buyers wrote before installing, and one Sage review mixes its praise with a second Article headboard. No owner reports pilling, a crushed nap, fading or loose panels either way.
  • Mounting is mostly easy, but the headboard must be fixed into the wall: Linked records: 5 favorable and 1 critical mention on install effort; 3 critical mentions on wall mounting. — Three Taupe owners (one gifted) and one Sage owner called installation easy or fairly easy. A Sage owner found the hardware intimidating but simple enough, with half-inch pre-drilled holes. Separately, one owner didn't expect it to go into the wall, one says it takes two people, and one says Article's paid assembly crew wouldn't mount it.
  • Fixed cleats leave little room to adjust placement: Linked records: 3 critical mentions from Sage owners; one adds it still looked fine above the baseboards. — One owner's centre panel sat slightly high with no way to adjust it. That is a single report, so it may be one unit. Another warns that the bracket position is fixed, so plan placement first. An extension-panel owner says baseboards prevent floor-length mounting, but it still looked fine mounted above them.

Before buying

Choose the Noel if you're ready to drill it into the wall yourself with a helper and plan the fixed cleat position first; owners praise its look and feel, but nobody yet reports how the velvet or the mount holds up long term.
